Light wood with a metal band along one edge, where the split ring attaches. The metal is there for a structural reason — a ring pulling directly through a wooden fob will eventually split it along the grain, and the band prevents that. It is the kind of detail that separates a keychain designed to last from one that photographs well and breaks in a year. Laser engraving burns dark into the pale face with good contrast, and both sides are usable.
