An embossed medallion is worked into the charcoal cover — a tone-on-tone pattern you notice at reading distance rather than across a room. It is the detail that makes an otherwise plain dark notebook look considered. The complication is that the embossing occupies the centre of the cover, so a logo goes to the lower right rather than the middle. Worth knowing before you send artwork designed to sit centrally. Metal pen and keychain complete the set. Charcoal sits between black and grey and photographs better than either, which is why this one turns up in a lot of internal comms shots.
